CHARACTER IS DESTINY
THE REVIEWS

A true life adventure story that reads like a novel.

Starting with his abduction by Bedouin travellers, Dick Cooper’s story then hurtles the reader through the twentieth century and around many countries of the world.

His story is a catalogue of fascinating events - attacks by wolves, running away from boarding school, numerous brushes with death, adventures at sea, heroism in the French Foreign Legion, action in two world wars including service as a secret agent with S.O.E. and much, much more. The cast of characters are as wild and different as his life experiences - Lucy, his nurse maid and guardian angel; Lucia, his dark-eyed first love and a brutal stepmother…

Written by Pat Hews, Dick Cooper’s daughter, who recalls him initially as a stranger upon his return from war, grew then to love him as a doting father. Finally she learned of his life story and can admire him as the hero he really was.

Few books please everyone but Character is Destiny is receiving considerable praise from a very wide readership!

But don't take my word for it, take a look at these readers comments

Dear Pat, I would like to thank - you for giving me the chance to take a look into the private life of an extremely fascinating man. Your fathers story is truly heartwarming, with torture, torment and neglect from a very young age he grew into a caring, thoughtful well respected gentleman. Reading this book felt like you were there in the room telling me the story, it was so easy to read. with facts, letter extracts and documents, but all the way through a very personal touch. You have taken me around the world on a thrilling adventure.
